Expenses
Expense Categories
Review the supported expense types available for property-level expense tracking and reporting.
Overview
Expense categories describe the type of property cost being recorded. They make expense summary rollups, property cashflow, and accounting review easier to scan.
Use the closest supported category rather than creating custom labels. If no category fits, use Other and add context in Vendor or Notes.

Choosing A Category
Choose the category that best describes the cost from an operating and reporting perspective. Vendor and notes can hold the extra detail that does not belong in the category itself.
For example, a cleaning vendor invoice should usually use Cleaning Service. A tenant cleaning charge collected as part of a rental should be handled in rental charges and payments, not property expenses.
Imports And Validation
Expense imports and recurring expense imports validate controlled values for expense type, recurring frequency, and paid-by. Invalid values are blocked before import instead of silently creating new categories.
